When it comes to directing, I prefer a collaborative approach. Whilst respecting each other’s roles, I welcome creative thoughts and ideas from the cast and creative team. I encourage actors to work on building a strong idea of their character by asking questions and creating ‘memories’ and experiences through improvisation scenes in the rehearsal rooms. I want to encourage actors to use their instincts. I enjoy working on new writings with my experience lying in theatre, comedy and creating theatre on a shoe-string budget and I have worked on plays that cover sensitive topics including misogyny, racism and poor mental health. I am keen to continue developing my directing skills and would love to branch into drama, physical theatre and poetically driven texts.

BRAINS:
Rated Review (4.5 stars): “Director Jasmine McHayle does a fantastic job of balancing the sense of feeling – allowing the audience to relax into the easy chemistry between the pair, before ramping up the tension with a bite scare or secret reveal.”
BLACK VOICE, WHITE NOISE:
Theatre and Tonic (4 stars): “These short, snappy transitions keep the show ticking over nicely and at a good pace. A perfect example of why an elaborate set is not needed particularly when the writing and direction is so well done.”
